About Beatriz Sousa

Beatriz Sousa is a Youth Organizer with Odara-Instituto da Mulher Negra. She has been an activist with the Institute since 2016. Beatriz joined Odara-Instituto da Mulher Negra through the Yalodês Project, which expanded the rights of young Black women through communication. She also collaborated with the Institute’s Communication Program and with the Ayomide Project, which has a mission of centering Black girls and adolescents in the fight for the right to education.

Moreover, the Ayomide Project believes in a future of dignity and well-being that begins and is based on the lives and autonomy of young Black girls, who will be leaders in the future and are already protagonists in the present. Today, Beatriz is part of the Health Program and is an articulator of the Black Youth Nucleus at Odara.
